And if the man [be] poor, thou shalt not sleep with his pledge:
Thou shalt not oppress an hired servant [that is] poor and needy, [whether he be] of thy brethren, or of thy strangers that [are] in thy land within thy gates:
At his day thou shalt give [him] his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he [is] poor, and set his heart upon it: lest he cry against thee unto Yahweh, and it be sin unto thee.
The rich man's wealth [is] his strong city: the destruction of the poor [is] their poverty.
Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.
Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.
He that despise his neighbour sins: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy [is] he.
He that oppress the poor reproach his Maker: but he that honour him hath mercy on the poor.
Whoso mock the poor reproach his Maker: [and] he that is glad at calamities shall not be unpunished.
The rich and poor meet together: Yahweh [is] the maker of them all.
He that hath pity upon the poor lends unto Yahweh; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.
Whoso close his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.
The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower [is] servant to the lender.
He that oppress the poor to increase his [riches, and] he that give to the rich, [shall] surely [come] to want.
Rob not the poor, because he [is] poor: neither oppress the afflicted in the gate:
A poor man that oppress the poor [is like] a sweeping rain which leave no food.
